Volunteers
What does it take to make a big difference? Just a little of your time. There are lots of ways to volunteer with us. Volunteer in our shopsWe are launching a new range of shops across Africa and the Diaspora and we rely on volunteer support. No special skills are needed, just a willingness to help. Whether you’re serving customers, helping with stock collections, sorting donations or window dressing, you’ll be part of a great team. There are some specialist roles too, in book and music departments and the Furniture and Electrical Stores. As well as helping to raise vital funds, our shop volunteers help raise awareness of heart health and our life-saving work. Volunteering is a great way to boost your CV and gain valuable work experience too. Help our local fundraisingLocal fundraising allows you to be flexible in what you do and how much time you give. We’ll let you know what’s happening in your area and you can volunteer when you’re available. Here’s a taste of ways you can join in:
You’ll get the chance to meet other volunteers at regional volunteer meetings or while helping out too, giving you the opportunity to join forces and get involved as a group. Fundraise for our regular AppealsWhy not organise your own event for our regular Appeals. Whether it’s a dress down day, or a cake sale, you can make a difference. We’ll send you all the information you need to get started, including ideas for dozens of easy to organise events. We can also help you out with materials such as posters and sponsorship forms, to make sure you get the most from your fundraising. You’ll be supporting our £50million groundbreaking research appeal and will be helping us to bring hope to millions of people affected by various disease in Africa and the Diaspora. Campaign to protect Africa's healthAs a AHO campaigner, we’ll send you regular email updates with all the different ways you can help us make a difference. You'll be the first to know about any campaigning news and ways to take action. We believe that the combined voice of our supporters around Africa, all committed to beating disease, can be truly formidable. Over 5,000 people helped us last year, and it’s very easy to join in. Help us fight for a heart healthy future for all. Office based volunteeringFrom time to time we have volunteering opportunities available within our offices. If you are interested in volunteering in any of our offices please email your CV and requirements to our HR team: info@aho.org.uk, or continue to check this page for specific opportunities we currently have.
