Social Care Directorate

Africa Health Organisation (AHO)'s Social Care Directorate is to provide support to people with physical or psychological problems to help them coping with the everyday live

AHO’s strategy is to tender public service, provide settings and train social care workers to work in residential homes or in people's own homes, working particularly with older people or with children as well as working with families, with adults with disabilities or those who have social or family difficulties.

A social care is a personal assistant working on a one-to-one basis with a person to provide whatever support they need. Helping people to gain control of their own lives is the key to helping them live independently depending on the care plan of the individual being cared for.

Our dedicated team of care working work with:

  • older people
  • people with physical disabilities
  • people with mental health problems
  • people with a learning disability
  • children and families
  • young people

Many of our social care workers are home care assistants and work in residential care homes and working with children, families and young people and people with disabilities.
