Africa Maternal Health Programme

Africa Maternal Health Programme is at the heart of Africa Health Organisation. The aim of the programme is to improve the health for Mama. Our mothers and sisters have been dying in child birth for a long time and action is needed now to stop this.
Maternal Health Programme focuses on family planning, preconception, prenatal, and postnatal care.

Africa Health Organisation's goals in preconception care is to providing education, health promotion, screening and interventions for women of reproductive age to reduce risk factors that might affect future pregnancies.

Africa Health Organisation's prenatal care is to provide comprehensive care that women receive and provide for themselves throughout their pregnancy. Women who begin prenatal care early in their pregnancies have better birth outcomes than women who receive little or no care during their pregnancies.

The postnatal care plan for Africa Health Organisation is to assist with recovery from childbirth, concerns about newborn care, nutrition, breastfeeding, and family planning.

The programme works in partnership with African Women's Club that provide the subjects and a conduit for information about African women and issues that affect access to maternal health.
